All cancellations will be announced on local radio stations and posted on the Public School Branch website by 7:00 a.m. An announcement that “all classes in the PSB are cancelled” means that there is no school for the students. An announcement of a “system wide shutdown” means that all schools and offices are closed.
One Hour Delay: If a decision cannot be made by 7:00 on cancellations, a one hour delay will be announced whereby all schools & buses will operate one hour later than usual. A further announcement will be made by 8:00.
School Closures during the day: It may be necessary to close school part way through a school day. Announcements will be made on the radio, and posted on the PSB website. Parents who will not be at home when children arrive are responsible for making alternate arrangements.

Monday, October 8th – Happy Thanksgiving to you all! No school.
Wednesday, October 10th – Cross Country Zones at Mill River. Students leave at 11:30 (by bus) and back in time for dismissal. Rain date is 11th.
Friday, October 12th – Autism Awareness Day – We ask students make a small donation and wear their clothes “inside out” on Friday. All proceeds will go to the Autism Society. Thank you!
Tuesday, October 16th – Boys’ and girls’ soccer tournaments. Boys play in Bloomfield and girls in Tignish. No bus so parents will have to transport. Team members will be getting a schedule of the tournament.
Friday, October 19th – PD workshop, no school.
Saturday, October 20th – Provincial Cross Country meet at Mill River.
Wednesday, October 31st – Happy Halloween!! Information will be sent home later this month regarding our Halloween activities.

Menus begin on Monday, Sept. 17th. Students should have all received their menus.
Just a reminder that if you haven’t signed and returned the packages sent home with students, please do so as soon as possible.
Our Run-a-thon will be held on Friday, Sept. 28th. Students are out and about collecting for this fundraiser. Parents/grandparents are more than welcome to come join us for a walk/run on this day at 1:20. We will also be having a corn boil at noon!

Hi Everyone…. just a reminder that tomorrow, staff and students are encouraged to wear hockey jerseys to show support for the Humboldt Broncos. Tomorrow is the last day for our “Timmy tour” challenge. Money will be tallied up on Friday. A reminder also, that there will be no school for the students on Friday. Teachers will be at their individual schools for School Goals.
UPEI Panthers Learn and Play en français Learn and Play “en français” summer camp is offered at UPEI from Monday to Friday (July 2 to August 17) for students in Grades 1 to 6 French immersion and French language programs who want to enjoy the summer having fun and learning in a completely French environment. UPEI has carefully selected their team of language teachers for these camps. They are all bilingual and qualified to teach French, graduates of the BEd French immersion Baccalaureate Program at UPEI. Days are specially tailored so that children stay highly motivated while enjoying their summer program. CFP Prince Edward Island
The camps are for students who have at least one year in French immersion or French language school. The Nautical camp, designed for youth aged 12 to 14, provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy an extraordinary week. Children will experience group life while practising various nautical and land activities. Activities during the week may include stand up paddle boarding (SUP), snorkeling, windsurfing, sailing, surf kayaking, archery, fishing, boogie boarding, cultural visits, campfires, and more. Among other things the Kayak Expedition camp explores the renowned circuit for sea kayaking, Gros-Cap allowing participants to explore the long and impressive tunnels that have been forged into the cliffs on the southeast side of the Islands. This camp is two days in camp and three nights kayaking and camping out. Come and admire the amazing signatures the wind and the sea have carved into the most beautiful cliffs of the Islands!
